Fred NanJin Deji Plaza

Inside Nanjing’s Deji Plaza, this 5 × 5 m FRED pop-up appears like an opalescent jewel box adrift on a sea-foam carpet. A lightweight rose-gold aluminium frame—its posts softened by rounded corner caps—supports translucent teal fabric panels whose vertical striations evoke ripples on the Qinhuai River. Three arched façades announce the maison with laser-sintered “Force 10” fan motifs, while the fourth hosts a backlit portrait that glows after dusk. Visitors step onto a textured champagne terrazzo where a “donut” showcase in fluted aquamarine lacquer and satin-copper trim orchestrates a 360-degree product journey, each quadrant able to detach for alternative configurations. Overhead, an 1.8 m halo ring fitted with micro track spots and recessed downlights bathes the pieces in adjustable 4 000 K light. Niches along the perimeter house modular vitrines and a palm-leaf floor lamp, and a pocket lounge with pebble-shaped stools offers relaxed consultations. All millwork arrives pre-finished on wheeled casters, enabling a four-hour install and future relocations with minimal waste.
